Fences we build
A fence does a few jobs at once: it keeps kids and dogs in, gives you privacy from the neighbors, and makes the whole yard look finished. We build it straight and solid so it stays that way.
Styles
- Wood privacy fences: solid board fences, usually 6 feet tall
- Horizontal fences: modern stained boards between dark posts, like the one in the photo above
- Shadow box fences: boards on both sides, so it looks good from your side and the neighbor's
- Vinyl fences: no painting, easy to wash
- Custom gates, built to fit when a stock gate won't
Fences for dogs
A lot of our fence customers have dogs. Tell us about yours. Jumpers, diggers and dogs who can squeeze through gaps each need something a little different, like a taller fence, boards set tight to the ground, or a self-closing gate.
What drives the price
The length of the fence line and the material are most of it. Height, the number of gates, slopes, and rocky or root-filled ground add to it. Chandler will measure and give you a clear price.
Permits and property lines
Pennsylvania's building code doesn't require a building permit for a fence 6 feet tall or less. Many townships still want a zoning permit to check setbacks. Robinson Township does, for example. Know where your property line is before you build. We'll talk it through with you.

Common questions
How long does a fence take to install?
Most backyard fences take a couple of days. One customer's backyard fence went up in two.
Do I need a permit for a fence?
Usually not a building permit for a fence 6 feet or under, but many townships want a zoning permit. We'll talk through what yours expects.
Wood or vinyl?
Wood costs less and can be stained any color; it needs care every few years. Vinyl costs more but doesn't need painting. We'll show you both.
Can you build a gate to match?
Yes. When a store-bought gate won't fit right, we build one.
When is the best time to put up a fence?
Any time the ground isn't frozen. Spring books up fast, so late summer and fall are great times to get on the schedule.
