Deck repair, rebuilds and replacement
Fix what's failing, or tear it off and build it new. We'll tell you which one makes sense.
When a deck needs work
Most of the homes around Coraopolis, Sewickley and Oakdale are decades old, and so are a lot of the decks. Weather does the damage: water sits on boards, gets into the joints, and rots wood from the inside.
Signs your deck needs attention
- Boards that bounce, crack or feel soft
- Railings that move when you lean on them
- Loose or popped nails and screws
- Posts that lean or sit on crumbling footings
- Gray, splintered wood that hasn't been sealed in years
What we fix
We replace loose and rotted boards, rebuild railings and stairs, and reinforce weak framing underneath. If the frame is too far gone, patching it just wastes your money. Then we'll tell you straight that a replacement is the better buy.
Cleaning, sealing and staining
A deck in good shape lasts much longer with regular care. We clean, sand where it's needed, and stain or seal the wood so it holds up to Pittsburgh winters.

What deck customers say

I hired Usenicnik to install a new deck. They tore down an existing deck and replaced it with a new one. It didn't take them all but 3 1/2 days. I was really happy with that. And I think the pictures speak for themselves about the quality of the work. I had no complaints! Recommend them to you,
Chandler and his crew did such an amazing job! We would recommend them to anyone that needs professional and masterful work!!
Chandler and the guys made the process seamless. Arrived every day until the job was complete. Best price and craftsmanship in the area. Highly recommend!
Common questions
Should I repair or replace my deck?
If the framing and posts are solid, repairing boards and rails is usually the better deal. If the joists or posts are rotted, a replacement costs less in the long run. We'll show you what we find.
How often should a wood deck be stained?
Every few years for most decks, sooner on decks that get full sun or sit under trees. If water soaks in instead of beading up, it's time.
Can you just fix my railing?
Yes. Small jobs are welcome. A loose railing is a safety problem, so it's worth fixing now.
